The Brunel MBA is a one year full-time or 2 year part-time programme with three specialisation options:
A part-time MBA is now also available. The Brunel MBA part-time programme is designed to maximise your career impact in the global market over a 2 year study period, without having to take a break from work. Indicative study patterns for the part-time MBA are 12 hours per week over a maximum of three days (with some classes on Saturdays), making the programme an ideal option for full-time working professionals in and around London.

Entry Criteria 2017/18
The Brunel MBA recruits managers and other professionals of high calibre who can both benefit from and contribute to an intellectually challenging management development programme.
Applicants should normally:
A minimum of three years' full time work experience at managerial or professional level in managing people, budget or other resources following a degree. It is important for candidates to clarify that they have significant / focused sector experience with responsibility for people, budget or other resources which is supportable by official documentary evidence.
As an example, the list of acceptable job roles and sectors which are considered (other managerial positions may be assessed on an individual basis and may be subject to interview):
Any type of senior administrative or public sector role: this may include team leads, supervisors, directors, and equivalent, in a range of organisations (from councils, through to charities and NGOs, or even SMEs).
Professionally qualified (senior) individuals: healthcare professionals (includes medics, clinicians, GPs, dentists, psychiatrists, nurses), aviation professionals (pilots, air crew, ground handling managers and supervisors, catering managers, suppliers, procurement professionals, cargo managers), engineers (civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, aeronautical engineers - all at either chartered or practicing status), local government or public body workers, candidates who hold other professional body qualifications (e.g. any of the chartered institutes or overseas equivalents), military personnel (at NCO or CO level)
Significant focused sector experience: a "trend" of working in a particular sector, the individual has moved within companies in the field, or has been working towards increasing specialisation, for example.
If academic criteria have not been satisfactorily met we may consider (subject to an interview by the MBA Director):
If an applicant has achieved a 2:2 degree score and five or more years of required senior managerial or professional level work experience, in managing people, budget, or other resources - GMAT score of 550 or Brunel MBA Admissions Test essay followed by a telephonic interview.
A 2:2 degree score or equivalent, and less than five years of required managerial or professional level work experience in managing people, budget or other resources - LBIC pre-Master's qualification.
We reserve the right to request a GMAT test from applicants who do not meet our academic entry criteria, in such cases we would ask for a GMAT score of at least 550. We also reserve the right to interview candidates either in person, or over the phone.

English Language Requirements
- IELTS: 6.5 (min 6 in all areas)
- Pearson: 58 (51 in all subscores)
- BrunELT: 65% (min 60% in all areas)
Brunel University London strongly recommends that if you will require a Tier 4 visa, you sit your IELTS test at a test centre that has been approved by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as being a provider of a Secure English Language Test (SELT). Not all test centres have this status. The University can accept IELTS (with the required scores) taken at any official test centre or other English Language qualifications we accept as meeting our main award entry requirements.
However, if you wish to undertake a Pre-sessional English course to further improve your English prior to the start of your degree course, you must sit the test at an approved SELT provider. This is because you will only be able to apply for a Tier 4 student visa to undertake a Pre-sessional English course if you hold a SELT from a UKVI approved test centre. The Pre-Masters course has been designed to prepare international students who have not qualified for direct entry to Brunel University London's Master's degrees. Undertaking a Pre-Master's course will give you time to adjust to the rigorous research and independent study requirements of a postgraduate degree. This will ensure you get the most out of your master's studies at Brunel University London and go on to achieve graduation in your chosen field. See details.
Teaching and Assessment
You will be taught by a team of highly qualified, experienced, research active academic staff at the forefront of their field or professionals with a wealth of commercial experience. Many of our lecturers are:
Internationally or nationally recognised for their innovative work and research;
Work as consultants for major companies worldwide;
Have practical and personal experience in business/have run their own companies.
These provide a broad overview of key concepts and ideas. They provide a framework from which to carry out more in-depth study.
Group work and presentations
Throughout the course, you will also be expected to undertake group work and individual projects and presentations. There will also be research talks on key management issues and presentations by outside speakers from the industry.
Web-learning and Support
eLearning and knowledge management are now standard ways in which companies communicate with their employees. Students will be expected to engage with online material using the university’s web‑based learning facility, Blackboard Learn.
Modules are typically assessed by individual assessment, or an examination.
Coursework and examinations place considerable stress on the ability to think and reason critically, but constructively.
The dissertation (12,000 words) is the capstone demonstration of these skills, requiring students to conceive, justify, design and execute a major project.

Two intakes per year
The intensive full time and part-time programme starts annually in early January and late September.
The Brunel MBA incorporates an innovative series of Leadership Masterclasses (LMS) which aim to help you perform better as a manager.
Sessions in the series will help you improve the ways in which you present your ideas, teach you how to manage change, negotiate conflict, as well as give you deeper insight into cross cultural issues and corporate responsibility.
Masterclasses will help you to become a better negotiator, manage projects more efficiently, resolve conflict at work more effectively and present your ideas with greater credibility. Research indicates that these are employable skills that recruiting organisations look for in a senior manager.

MBA students undertake regular visits to companies in the UK and many companies visit the students on campus as part of the MBA Guest Speaker Series: “Let’s Talk Business”. International Business Tour
MBA students have the opportunity to embark annually on a Business Tour to one of the main economic hubs in the world, where they learn about operations of multinational corporations. A recent visit included a weeklong trip to one of the leading BRIC economies: India. Students had a unique opportunity to meet with senior directors of companies such as Cadburys, McDonalds and Merrill Lynch – as well as a number of local social enterprises and SMEs.
Brunel University is pleased to announce that we have once again been awarded ten places on this year's Graduate Entrepreneur programme, plus an additional ten places just for Brunel MBA Graduates.
Under the scheme selected graduates can stay on in the UK and work towards setting up their own business, under a special branch of the Tier 1 Route. Brunel provides Immigration sponsorship and mentoring for those graduates selected. Find out more about becoming a Graduate Entrepreneur.

Additional course related costs
UK/EU students can opt to pay in six equal monthly instalments: the first instalment is payable on enrolment and the remaining five by Direct Debit or credit/debit card.
Overseas students can opt to pay in two instalments: 60% on enrolment, and 40% in January for students who commence their course in September (or the remaining 40% in March for selected courses that start in January).
